The town of Riverton was at the end of the CP Winnipeg Beach subdivision. At one time there were two grain elevators in the town – Manitoba Pool and Federal. The Federal elevator was sold to the Pool in 1971 and moved to become an annex to the MPE elevator. A faded Searle logo was still visible on the Federal elevator, which received a Pool roundel.

The elevator track was removed sometime between 1984 and 1994. The elevator was demolished after 1994.

Donald Hamilton noted that the elevator had a capacity of 940 tons and was 34′ x 35′ in size, while the annex had a capacity of 760 tons and was 30′ x 31′.
