In 2008 the town of Flaxville, Montana had a row of five wooden grain elevators, grouped into two pairs of elevators and a single elevator. Companies often moved two or more elevators together to use one as an annex for extra storage.
One set of elevators consisted of a composite wooden elevator, with an annex and another elevator on the other side of the annex. The second elevator was a single elevator with two annexes, and the third elevator stood alone.
