There have been several grain elevators in the city of Winnipeg over the years. This page will list some of those elevators.

Viterra

Viterra has a large concrete grain terminal in the heart of Winnipeg, just south of CP’s yard. It is served by CP.

Pacific Junction

There was a large grain elevator near Pacific Junction in the Charleswood area of Winnipeg, Manitoba. This elevator was originally a Searle elevator, acquired by Federal Grain, and it was eventually part of the Manitoba Pool.

Cargill

Cargill had a grain elevator in the east side of Winnipeg (Transcona). This 8,000 tonne concrete facility was beside CN’s Transcona yard. It was closed in early 2012 and later demolished.

UGG

The UGG had a former McCabe grain elevator in the Fort Whyte area of Winnipeg. This elevator featured a crib annex. It burned in March 2000 (More information).

The other UGG grain elevator in Winnipeg was called “Red River”, located near De Vos Road off Pembina Highway in southwest Winnipeg. It was known as Canwest Seeds before UGG took it over (More info).
